After drawing with Fulham in the opening away fixture of the season, Tuesday night’s game against Swindon was the Canaries first competitive home fixture at Carrow Road.
Daniel Farke chose a strong starting 11, making only three changes to the team that faced Fulham. Cameron Jerome and Wes Hoolahan combined nicely to open the Canaries Carrow Road account, whilst James Morrison not only added to the scoresheet, but made what turned out to be an extremely important goal line clearance.
As we all know, cup fixtures gives lower league clubs the chance to cause an upset, and although they managed to score two set pieces, it was not enough to get passed a strong Norwich performance. Now, we look forward to the first Championship fixture of the season against Sunderland, who are preparing for life in the Championship after a decade in the Premier League.
