BloorIE Football Update

This weekend saw Bloor International Enterprises take over the Stadium Sponsorship at Newmarket Town Football Club. This is the latest addition to our growing portfolio of football partnerships which encompasses teams on both a national and local scale. Read more about the new deal here

It was also national non league day on Saturday which saw Newmarket Town take on Histon FC. It was a fantastic game with the result ending 4-0 to Newmarket. Stephen Spriggs scored a hatrick whilst Watson scored a penalty. The score could have been more with another penalty saved by the Histon goalkeeper, but a great result all round to kick off our new stadium sponsorship deal. We wish the Jockeys all the best for the rest of the season.

Cambridge United were unfortunate to lose 1-3 at home to Wycombe Wanderers. Ebere Eze scored a stunning brace and Josh Umerah scored a late goal which took all the points at the Cambs Glass Stadium. Medy Elito reduced the deficit to one when smashing in a spot kick on 70 minutes, after Uche Ikpeazu had been felled in the Wycombe area. But unfortunately this was not enough for the U’s who were unable to get anything from the game.

In the mean time, Norwich City have been enjoying the International Break. Scotland’s hopes of reaching the 2018 World Cup came to an end on Sunday as they were held to a 2-2 draw in Slovenia. Grant Hanley was an unused substitute for Scotland. Michael McGovern started in goal as Norway won a 1-0 win, with Michael O’Neill’s men now left to wait to see how they will face off against for a place at next summer’s tournament.
